Limit Order Update
Modify the price or quantity of a resting limit order while it remains live on the book. OpenYield acknowledges the update and the order continues without interruption.
- Only price and quantity can be changed. Other order attributes — side, security, and time-in-force — cannot be modified.
- If the new price crosses the spread, the updated order fills immediately against available liquidity.
- Reducing quantity does not affect the order's position in the queue. Changing price reprices the order; and moves it to the back of that price level in the order book.
The update is sent as a replace: your request carries a new order ID and references the original. OpenYield atomically replaces the resting order and acknowledges the change. If the update is rejected — for example because the original order was already filled or cancelled — you will receive a rejection instead.
